Screen mirroring in Windows 10 is one of the standard features that we use. There are often times when we want to use this feature. For example, if you are watching a movie on your phone and you want to mirror it on a bigger screen. However, screen mirroring requires a high speed internet connection, and the entire setup consumes a lot of data.

But if you are doing it over a LAN connection or a wireless connection. The whole process becomes much easier. Anyway, let me just talk about how to use screen mirroring feature.

Screen Mirroring in Windows 10

The best part of Windows 10 is that it comes with an inbuilt functionality which you can use to mirror the screen to other devices available on the same network. The receiver can be anything, your TV, streaming sticks like Amazon FireTv or Roku, connect phone to tv or even another Windows computer.

All you have to do is go through a few settings on your computer and the other device, and you will be good to go. However, to make it easy for you, I have mentioned all the steps over here:

Mirror Windows 10 screen to another device

To start mirroring screens, we have to change a few settings on the receiver computer. So first of all, you have to go to the receiver’s computer and do these following settings:

  • First of all open settings and then open system.
  • Now scroll down to find the “Projecting To this PC” option from the left menu.
  • Now from the first drop down menu, you have to select  ‘Available everywhere’.
  • Then from the second drop down menu, select ‘First time only’.
  • In the end, simply enable ‘Require PIN for pairing’ and change other settings as per your requirements.

Once you are done with the above steps. Now we have connected projecting to this pc. So for this, you have to make sure that both of the computers are connected to the same local area network.

Now from that PC which screen is to project go to the action center and hit the connect button. After that, it will start looking for available devices, and then you will be able to find the receiver computer in this list. Select the device and hit ‘Connect’.

Now go back to the receiver computer and click on ‘Yes’ to allow the connection. It might also ask you to enter a pin. So simply enter the pin, and your connection will be established, you will see a new Window where the screen will be projected.

More Options to project

Apart from this, there are a few other options are also available on the projecting computer. For example, you will be able to change the projection mode, treating the other computer as an external display.

You will also be able to chose from the standard four projecting modes or connect phone to tv wirelessly. These modes are the ‘PC Screen Only’, ‘Duplicate’, ‘Extend’, and ‘Second Screen Only’. In addition to that, you will be able to allow input from a keyboard and mouse connected to the receiver computer and more information available on official website. This feature will give the receiver complete control over the main computer.
